Easter Weekend!!

Hey Everyone,

I hope that y'all had a wonderful Easter yesterday and an amazing week as well.  This past week had been one of the most tiring and spiritually satisfying during my service as a missionary.
Tuesday evening, we picked up the Capitol Elders for their exchange and they stayed with us through Wednesday evening.  Before returning to Montgomery, we stopped by our church to attend our Branch's Easter Party.  It was a blast to see, for 5 short minutes, 30 little kids tackle each other to the ground for Easter Eggs that we hid around the building grounds.  The Branch provided hot dogs for dinner and the 4 of us missionaries easily put away a couple dozen of them.  We returned to Montgomery and spent the night there as we had to be in Birmingham early the next morning for Zone Conference.
Thursday ended up being ridiculously busy.  Zone conference started early and our Mission President manged to cram a day long Zone Conference into just a few short hours.  We had a quick lunch then walked across the parking lot so we could attend our Temple Session.  I am so grateful that our mission has a fully operating Temple within its boundaries.  I look forward to and love attending the Temple and feeling the peace and comfort that comes from simply stepping onto the grounds.  When our zone finished our session we loaded up and hit the road for Montgomery again.  We got back, ate some dinner, packed our bags, and still didn't get to Greenville until well after our permitted hours.
After one exhausting day, Friday started off on the same foot.  We had to be over near our church that morning to assist a member in pouring the footings for his new house.  We thought that the task wasn't going to be that difficult until we discovered that there was no boom-truck to pump the concrete into the forms.  Instead, we had to each place a wheel barrow under the cement truck and dump each load of concrete into the forms throughout the entire building site.  We were a complete mess and covered in concrete and sweat by the time we finished.  We didn't have time to run home either to shower. Elder Messerly and I stopped by the church and changed into our proselyting clothes quickly and again, hit the road for Montgomery for a baptismal interview that afternoon.
The remainder of our weekend was seemingly a breeze compared to our week.  My companion and I were so fortunate to be able to spend the remainder of Friday, and all of Saturday doing our normal missionary work in our area.
Elder Messerly and I made it to Sunday and Easter was upon us.  It was a beautiful day and it was most rewarding to see the family we have been teaching attend church with us.  It was such a blessing to see how the branch members warmly welcomed them and bring the spirit into their lives.  It is our hope, through sacrifice and determination on their part, that the Barret Family will enter the waters of Baptism at the end of this month.
It amazes me every day to see how the Gospel of Jesus Christ eternally blesses each of our Heavenly Father's children.  I love being able to share those blessings daily and am so grateful for this work in which I was called to do!

I love you all and hope the best for each of you!
Elder Foster

  1. Sounds like you don't have a lot of downtime, which is a good thing. Makes the time go faster.
Glad you had a good Easter and the weather was cooperative.

    Love You Lots
