Transfer #4 is Underway

After all of the treacherous weather (including a few tornadoes), transfers, and numberless meetings in Montgomery, I survived another week in the ABM.
Our week had a rough start as we woke up last Monday at 4:30 to the sound of our weather radio alerting us to a tornado that was in the area.  We got ourselves ready for the day and headed to Montgomery as soon as we could.  When we left Greenville, a tornado hit our area and destroyed a near by town only 15 miles away.  There is a lot of service to be done in the town and we look forward to offering our help down there.
Transfers happened Wednesday morning clear up in Birmingham and as usual, we were under another tornado warning. We managed to get away from the serious weather when we got to Birmingham. Unfortunately, we all got soaked with the accompanying rain when everyone was switching their luggage into their new area's vehicle.  Elder Bradshaw left for Talladega and I got Elder Messerly as my new companion.  Elder Messerly is a great guy from Utah and loves to work hard, I'm sure many miracles will be happening in our area soon!
Not a lot more happened this week aside from getting to know the members in our area and working on building a strong relationship with each of them.  Among our travels this week, one of our daily routes included a haunted bridge by the name of Mary Daniel.  The members of our branch truly believe that it is haunted and apparently the bridge was featured in a TV series for it's haunting story.  When we were going across the bridge this week, we decided to stop and explore around it.  While there for about 20 minutes, we came across 1 rattle snake and 3 massive turtles that we ended up shooting from atop the bridge with our area's BB gun.  It was a productive way to start the transfer.
Sunday had finally came and it was a fruitful day to say the least.  Following church, we met with our Branch President and spent a good minute discussing the people in this area and the work that needs to be done out here.  By the time my companion and I left, we came home with a list of 25 referrals that President Nesmith, our Branch President, entrusted us with.  As a missionary, I don't much that makes them more happy than a list of golden referrals.
Yesterday marked Palm Sunday, the beginning of the Savior's week leading up to his Atonement.  All of these events, the Suffering in Gethsemane, the Cross, and His Resurrection make it possible for us to return to live with our Heavenly Father once again.  How grateful I am for the peace in my life that is brought by the Atonement of Jesus Christ.  I invite you all to watch the Church's new video, #Prince of Peace, and contemplate how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has lead to peace in your life.  I know that He lives and that he guides us in these Latter Days through an Prophet called of God, President Thomas S. Monson.  Jesus Christ stands at the head of this Church and I am ever grateful to wear his name each day while bringing souls unto Him in Alabama.
I love you and wish you all a blessed week!
Elder Foster
