Summer, School, and Football!

Hey Y'all,

Well these past few weeks have been quite adventurous and I'm getting super stoked for what will soon come.

So I guess the biggest thing that has been happening here is that the city of Tuscaloosa is rapidly transition back into a thriving college town.  Since the beginning of August, campus has been booming with people, residents are getting antsy for football to begin, and our branch is growing even stronger.  The first official day of Fall Semester begins next Wednesday, August 22nd.

With that happening, we have been finding ourselves exponentially more busy because we have more people to teach and more people to find from.  One person that we began teaching last week was a lady named Olive.  She is a graduate student that recently arrived here and is working on a research project.  Olive is actually a referral from a member clear up in Boston, Massachusetts.  She grew up in Rwanda and was a survivor of the Rwanda Genocide.  She amazes me so much because even though she grew up with a horrific beginning to her life, she is one of the happiest people I've ever met.  She is so excited to have the blessing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ become a part of her life!

Also this past week, we went on exchange and I actually got to go with my MTC companion, Elder Childs.  It was a good time being able to work together to find and teach.  It is so cool to see how far we have each come since we began our missions almost two years ago.

Two pdays ago, we also got to go on a tour of the University of Alabama Football Stadium.  It was so stinking awesome.  The place is like a crazy anthill with all of the people working on final preparations for the football season to begin.  I'll be sure to include some pictures of the stadium!

Have a great week!
